Netizens are in shock after a video spread online showing a Hindu teacher in India's Uttar Pradesh instructing Hindu students to slap a 7-year-old Muslim student for not doing his homework.
The teacher, interviewed after the incident, said it was a 'minor issue' and that she was not ashamed.
She claimed her actions had nothing to do with religion, although she is heard in the video saying, "I have declared that all Muslim children should go."
The teacher, who says she is handicapped, said her mistake was that she had other students beat the boy because she could not get up herself.
The school has reportedly been shut down and an investigation is underway.
