Kochi - The Kerala Police on Monday registered a case
against Thrissur-based beedi tycoon Muhammad Nisham, who
is serving life term in jail for brutally murdering a
security guard, for issuing death threat to his two
brothers over the phone while in jail even as they wanted
to withdraw a complaint they had lodged against him on
Friday.
The police initiated the case on the basis of the
statements given by Abdul Nissar and Abdul Razaq,
Nisham's two brothers, who had complained against him,
and two of his friends and evidences collected in a
preliminary investigation. The police at Anthikkad, a few
kilometers away from Thrissur, are in charge of the
investigation.
Nissar and Razaq had lodged the complaint on Friday
evening along with the voice record of the phone
conversation between them and Nisham during which he
allegedly threatened to kill them. They had reiterated
the allegation against Nisham during the recording of
their statements on Saturday.
