The "Trump Effect" is apparently the trend/need for the Republican
Executive Committee to distance itself from an elected official with
racist, radical ideas (in this situation, the radical racist in question
is not Donald Trump but Robert Morrow). Apparently, we are starting to see
a pattern.

The despicable GOPe doesn't see the need to distance itself from Trump >because they think he is a racist... They see the need
to take him out because they know they wouldn't be able control him and he >might just derail their gravy train.
And once again, I am not a Trump supporter but a Kasich supporter (faint
hope as that maybe now)...

What's really sad is that 1/3 of those speaking against Trump or
distancing themselves from him are doing so because he's not really a Republican. And another third because they say in November the
Democrat will beat him. Only 1/3, or probably substantially less than
that, are against him because he's a piece of crap or whatever weaker
word they would use.
It's so embarrassing for the Republicans, and for all Americans, that
we have someone like him living here as a citizen, let alone one who
gets votes.

Yes, that's prettu much it - the voters elect someone from whom the
party leadership feels the need to distance itself. And yes, it may be
a pattern, like when the DNC disavowed Cynthia McKinney... oh, wait,
did it?
Well that's good, but there was no letter.

Exactly. Drumpf simply says out loud what the other Republicans have
been saying in dogwhistles. He's exposing them.
Early on, there was a suspicion that Drumpf was really just a double
agent for the Democrats, running to embarrass the Republicans by showing
what stupid stuff they'd fall for. But now it looks as if he really is
so full of himself, and has done such a good job of lapping up the >authoritarian side of the population (notice how he likes calling
himself a "Leader"?), that he is likely to win the party's nomination.
But he'll have a very hard time uniting the 60% or so of Republican
primary voters who opposed him behind him.

It's typical of a banana republic, which is what we're becoming.
Even those Republicans who have disavowed or opposed Trump have mostly
done so because a) he's not a Republican or he doesn't have a long
list of Republican values,
b) they think he will lose to Hillary and
the others won't, c) he's threatening to run as an independent and
they don't like that, and being a pig is only the reason offered by
1/3 or 1/4 of them.
