    The promise: wise honest technocrats can invest in science and business without worrying about profit.

    The reality: politicized investment is a vote buying slush fund and fuels corrupt cronies, politicized science results in politically correct junk science.

    Canada's recent gift of $13 billion to Volkswagen to build a battery plant is a recent example. Our PM claims that the "economic impact" will make up for the subsidy cost, so the government can't possibly lose.

    If a company's operations are not commercially viable without billions in tax payers subsidies it should not be in business. Public money is not a Bank for favors.
