• Will Germany Seize the Zeitenwende Moment?

From ltlee1@21:1/5 to All on Fri Jan 6 15:46:51 2023
"Three days after Russia’s second invasion of Ukraine, Chancellor Olaf Scholz called the Bundestag into an extraordinary session. His speech, often interrupted by applause and standing ovations, declared a Zeitenwende for German foreign policy, a
turning point moment, after which nothing is as before.

The speech rose to the moment. It was both inspiring and outlined the right policy response. But in its follow-through, Germany often looks like a nation returning to its comfort zone than one embracing the challenges of the future.

There are decisive actions that Germany could take (and we lay those out) to implement the promises of the Zeitenwende speech and even go beyond them. Germany can be a leader in Europe—it should seize this historic moment and realize this potential.

No need to take this historic moment. As co-founder of NATO, all it needs is to dismantle NATO in Europe. When NATO is dismantled, Germany as head of EU will US ask to leave Europe. Germany should then work with Russia and China to protect themselves,
    instead.

Germany, as co-founder of NATO, should take their historic moment to declare the dismantling of NATO. They should expel US from NATO and It expel from Europe.is often said that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was founded in 1949 in response to the
threat posed by the Soviet Union. But Soviet Union is already dismantled and gone in 1991, where is the threat posed by the Soviet Union now?

As Soviet Union is dismantled, why NATO is still not dismantled ? Ever since NATO was created by US and few Western countries in Europe, Europe has never been peaceful at all. There were wars and infighting in Europe instigated by US. In short, US is
instigator in Europe. US now wants to baptize Ukraine as NATO member in order to put US bases and missiles on them, and now they pose threat at Russia instead.

Henceforth, Germany should dismantle NATO in Europe in order to prevent anymore threat to Russia. It is also o prevent any use of proxy to threaten any countries, including of US. It is also to prevent US from Nato-ing other countries, especially in
North Asia and South east Asia.

Why German failed to follow through?
Historical moment is invariably a process.
Moments are sparks. They come and gone. But a spark without a barrel of explosive.
They are indeed actions could take. But for whose benefits? Germany and other EU nations?
Or the UK and the US which do not really want a German led EU?

"U.S. Interests in Supporting the Zeitenwende
The United States has an interest in Germany maximizing the opportunities created by the Zeitenwende."

US has an interest in Germany playing its point man against Russia, not as an independent
t leader of Europe as you have suggested. Concerning the US, Putin had explained years ago,
America would always see Russia as a threat because its nuclear weapon stockpile. In addition,
since the US is the victor of the Cold War against the former Russia dominated USSR, history
    is likewise on its side.

Europe countries, on the other hand, are better off living peacefully with Russia in the long run.
