"They were signed between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

"Tonight, in the historical city of Samarkand, I signed the memorandum of commitments of the Islamic Republic of Iran's permanent membership at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, with the secretary-general," Amir Abdollahian tweeted.

"Now, we have entered a new stage of diverse economic, commercial, transit, energy, and… cooperation," he added.

The SCO secretary general praised Iran’s steps to join the bloc, saying, “Today is an important and determining day for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, thereby I congratulate Iranian friends and colleagues and
also my colleagues in the organization.”

Zhang added Iran as a stable, secure and powerful country is important for the SCO. He also said Iran’s accession to the SCO will strengthen the organization.

The commitments were signed before the SCO summit officially begins in Uzbekistan, the current chair of the organization.

Amir Abdollahian is accompanying President Raisi who flew to Samarkand, the venue of the summit.

The summit, which officially began on Thursday and lasts until Friday, brings certain heads of states, including the Chinese and Russian leaders.

Iran and the organization started a formal process for Tehran’s accession to the bloc in March. Iran's membership in the body was later approved by the Iranian administration. On Wednesday, government spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi said the draft
legislation outlining Iran's membership in the organization had been submitted to the Iranian parliament for approval."

It's great for Iran to join the SCO which is a growing economic forum to increase their economy and fostering trades and furthering their cooperation with each other. They can foster cooperation on political and economic integration or dialogue among
states or entities even within their own restrictive geographical or geopolitical boundary.

Lastly, most importantly, they can get China's Belt and Road Initiatives or BRI to support them also. China will bring infrastructure supports to them, bridging and connecting them to each other, and even other things like defense and economic and health
    cares, too.

The SCO which started in 2001 about 21 years of 6 nations have members increased to 9 nations, is now the world's largest regional economic bloc, comprising 40% of world's population and 30% of global GDP. Seriously, Iran should have joined earlier so
that they can benefit from each other. More countries should join this economic bloc as it has no Western misbehavior to force on them.

US is doing it too by forming coalitions. The "anti-hegemonic" is one of the coalition's objectives which included in driving grievances together.

In any case, 80s. Brzezinski died 7 years ago and this is Zbigniew Brzezinski's perspectives that conjured from his academic theory formulated by him when he was in his NSA job for Carter in the 80s. Brzezinski died 7 years ago.

Now time has changed and now US contradiction ideas of lording, dictatorship, and war at other countries are now opened to scrutiny by the world. They woke up and now driven that US should not be power anymore. That means US has no more power anymore.
Now is the time for this economic grouping to deter US from interference of their collective markets and also to develop their economic drives, too.

In short, just ignore US and EU and do your own things within the group and focus new creative ways of cementing economic payment system and to isolate US dollar and the swift system too. There should be basket of currencies contributed by these SCO
members so valuate and establishment a currency rate for their own cross-country transactions needs, instead.

Of course, the set of factors which could divide and glue nations are the same over time.
But some factors are more likely to divide nations and other more likely to glue them together.
However, Brzezinski's remark is eye-catching today as well as 25 years ago. Naturally,
Russia, China, and Iran have more reasons to be divided than getting together. Yet, the US
has worked hard to glue them together.

A deeper question is when and why a grievance a grievance. Unlike race/ethnicity, religion,
shared culture/history, grievance has a large dose of subjectivity.

US has worked hard to glue them together?. US has been "breaking" them up, by a "divide and rule" target at each of them individually in order to maintain hegemon over them. Brzezinski is a slant eye looking man and surprisingly, American never make
racism remark on that. The racist people in US and EU would say that in front of other races. During the tenure of Brzezinski, there was no much real works from him except making some poetic words to for people to remember him. It was more an exchange of
    thinking with others.

The strength of words depended on how he can construct in a number of words in short words to describe his overall meaning of it. There is nothing more to solving the problem at all. Anyway, what he said maybe relevant at that time, 1977 to 1981, but
after 41 years, his short word may be just an inspiration to others in US politics. Seriously, he was a academic before he appointed as NSA and later after the end of one term, he went back to academic teaching.

Now, knowing the wickedness of US and its allies of 5 eyes countries and EU, people around the world now want to distance and isolate from them. Seriously speaking, this SCO was founded many years ago, but because their economic objectives were destroyed
by the West by unfurling accusations at them and hence they could not work on its business and trade objectives but to follow what the world is doing on trades and trade payment system.

Now with they can use China BRI to develop their infrastructure needs and to them these infrastructures will increase their trades. They can employ China 5G connectivity and also China's digital transaction payment to replace the swift system. The key to
a successful business and trade cooperation is not to interfere in each other's politics and political system and ethnicity, race/ethnicity, religion, shared culture/history, grievances, etc.

If they put aside of all these and leave them out, and not to interfere in their trades and businesses, and infrastructural development, they can multiply very fast, another economic bloc. Hence, they should something small and simpler and let their
people to trades and develop its business network among themselves. Only if we can try out, will then know what needs to improve and change too. Success of trades always started with cooperation with each other, and the first chance of a trade, too.
