• The fog of conflict and the global paradigm shift

"The extraordinary events that resulted from the Russian intervention in Ukraine, which began on February 24, leave indelible marks and confirm some of the perceptions that have already been mentioned in other articles by us.

    Western-led order questioned

The western-led international order is clearly being questioned in its hierarchy of power, and the war in Ukraine is a clear symptom of this questioning.

What really causes astonishment, however, is the perception that this conflict aims at something much bigger than it might seem at first sight, because it would not be a regional conflict, but a one of global proportions: a hegemonic conflict.
    Paradigm shift

The paradigm shift represented by the Russian intervention in Ukraine consolidates, therefore, the path of a new international system, more fragmented, and where Western power is weakened. In this scenario, the tectonic plates of the international system
are slowly moving in the face of the new, and unprecedented, world that is unfolding.

Therefore, like it or not, the elites of countries like Brazil, so subservient to the security strategy of the United States, are being pushed towards a consensual solution in the direction of the Eurasian experience through the BRICS. In this way, the
Brazilian military, so reactionary and obedient to Washington, is facing a new world, apparently already understood by the diplomatic tradition of "Itamaraty", and even by the powerful brazilian agrobusiness lobby.

In the opposite direction, the blindness of the European elites causes astonishment by feeding a game that plunges Europe back into what it has always been: the great stage of military interstate competition of the last 500 years.

Therefore, taking this terrible premise into consideration, the armistice that made possible the creation of the European Union, as well as the common currency, would have been a mere interregnum of peace, until the next war."

No doubt this Ukraine conflict is a hegemonic conflict between the powers especially with nuclear capability to harness its prowess. Ukraine is now suffering in being used by US in fighting the Russians.

US is supply one billion worth of weapons to further flare up the Ukraine war into a permanent war with Russia. US is skirting the objections and hesitations of the EU into going forward with the supplying of more weapons to avoid any confrontation and
    retaliation from their neighbor Russia.

But this is not the case for US. US being faraway from Europe will not care about the outcome on EU by Russia. US is the long term's interest of being a hegemon to the two big powers - China and Russia. They want to demolish these two big powers into a
pulp and be vassal states to US like what Japan and South Korea has being in the past 70 years of under the lordship of the US.

Make no mistake, EU is not interested in being a hegemon over at their neighbor with Russia. EU wants to trade and do business with Russia and China. But US is not interested in these two countries and they have now sought their own ways of self-
sufficiency in domestic trades on their own but not with other countries, so that they can continue to destroy the trade relationships of other countries between countries, except them trading alone and lonely in their own US states.

Paradigm shift is absolutely the right description.

In Robert Kagan's 2008 book "The Return of History And the End of Hope, he had foreseen
"Hopes for a new peaceful international order after the end of the Cold War have been dashed by sobering
realities: Great powers are once again competing for honor and influence. Nation-states remain as strong as
ever, as do the old, explosive forces of ambitious nationalism."

Kagan's book also exposed the shaky foundation of U.S. hegemonic dream. The American world order would
only work if the US is the only nation allowed to dream. And all other nations must forget their history and must
    not dream.

For this U.S. led world order to continue, Chinese people must forget its history during which Taiwan was part of
China. And Chinese people must not dream about reunification.

Wet dream for US to think Chinese people must forget its history with Taiwan and not must not dream about unification. The red line is already very clear to the US and other countries that they should not interfere the internal affairs between Taiwan and
China. Chins is the sole owner of Taiwan island.

Taiwan island is part of the province of Fujian province of China. If US still think how to manipulate and supply Taiwan with weapons, they will be crossing the red line and will be destroyed when they entered into war with Taiwan.

I learnt the concept of paradigm from Thomas Kuhn's 1996 book, "The Structure of Scientific Revolution."
In short, scientific revolution is not a gradual process during which small truth accumulates more or less
linearly over time and then becomes scientific grand principle. Rather, scientists are invariably operate within
a certain frame work or paradigm. If new observations and/or experimental conclusions are inconsistent with
a dominant/fashionable paradigm, people would usually try to explain the inconsistency away or don't pay
attention to it. But if more and more observations and/or experimental conclusions are pouring in, there would
be a stage people would abandon the old paradigm and choose a more explanatory and predictive paradigm.

    Why the revolution?
Given that all accepted/fashionable paradigms can only become fashionable because of their power to predict
and explain. However, limited, some would insist those set are sufficient for their continuous support for the old
view. More often than not, a new paradigms with more explanatory and predictive power is nowhere to be found.
And whatever fashionable paradigm would entrenched itself in various fields and form an ecology. Hence, scientific
revolution is revolutionary because it simultaneously affect many fields of knowledge.

Concerning Putin's decision to initiate his "Special operation", one can describe it as same old same old naked
aggression from a Soviet type dictator. Not initiating any kind of paradigm or revolution. Julia Ioffe had certainly
pushed this view in the following interview.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSNo2FPQDQw
She and her like minded saw Putin publicly convening his security team as a formality. A "very Soviet obsession
with bureaucracy and ticking the box insisting on the form while completely abandoning or perverting the substance
..." And the uneasiness of members as proof that they were dragged into situation somewhat unwillingly.

    Is this view right?
