EU digital sovereignty: cloud industry players unconvinced,
American and Asian hyperscalers still lead the way in Europe
"Does Europe continue to ignore local cloud computing players despite
claims of digital sovereignty? Well, this is the "bitter" observation
made by the EUCLIDIA group (European Cloud Industrial Alliance - the
European Cloud Industrial Alliance). In an open letter published last
week, the members of the alliance are indignant that "despite their
efforts to offer competitive and more secure cloud computing services,
European authorities continue to roll out the red carpet to non-European players which have repeatedly abused their dominant position"."
