If war erupts in Ukraine and the US is tied up, would China become more aggressive regarding Taiwan? Could other simmering conflicts erupt in the Middle East?
I can’t speak to Middle East conflicts, but China probably wouldn’t take military action against Taiwan. Why should it, unless Taiwan crosses the red line and moves towards independence?
China doesn’t want war. It is a peaceful and benevolent nation.
China doesn’t want to hurt its own people in Taiwan, just as it doesn’t want to hurt its own people in Xinjiang and Tibet and Hong Kong.
