Do mainland Chinese people get fed up that so many fun sites like YouTube are banned there?
    Not really.

How do you feel that you cannot access Douyin and Taobao?

My guess is you don’t care since the sites are in Chinese and so is most of the content. Some of the best Douyin content is copied to Youtube … just like some of the best YouTube content is copied to Douyin often by the people that make it but not
    always.

The people that do want to access it and care enough get a VPN. Running an unlicensed VPN is illegal and using one is as well but if you get caught using one (as opposed to running one) all that will happen is you might get a fine but even that is very
unlikely. They might see what else you are doing and “get” you on something else but not if you are just accessing fun sites.

The reason why you think it is fun is that most of the content is in your language. For Chinese people, most of the content in Chinese is hosted on Chinese servers. Not all of it but enough for them not to care unless they find something really good.

So … most don’t know or care since most of the Mandarin content isn’t on YouTube.

The ones that do know or have high levels of English often know enough to get a VPN which is low risk to most end users that want to access fun sites.
