Was General Douglas MacArthur right that we should have annihilated China when we had the chance?
The U.S. did have the chance under General Douglas MacArthur. He tried to take over North Korea, and Vietnam. However, he failed every time miserably.

He didn't tell the Americans that the Chinese were the real stuff he'd experienced firsthand. He brought the secret to his grave.

In the Vietnam War, he told his soldiers to prepare to home for Christmas in the most two weeks by that time, the Vietnam War was over. What happened, the Yankees had gone with the tail between the legs.

The US didn't have enough atomic bombs to annihilate China - at best, they could have devastated one or two major cities, but they'd still need a massive ground force to push into China.

The big problem, however, is that using up the very limited atomic stockpile on China would mean that the USSR could roll over a weakened Europe in a matter of weeks. The US would then have a land war in China and a USSR dominating Europe, with no more
    trump cards.

Trading Europe for a new war in China was a bad deal and Truman knew it.

Isn't this the kind of thinking that makes the rest of the world doubt American values, and rationality?

Asking whether it is a good idea to annihilate 560 million people, just because one can?

    Really?

That is bringing freedom and democracy and liberating the world?

The thinking behind the question horrifies and disgusts me.

This is seriously messed up and qualifies as genocidal, and not just hate speech.

560 million is 93 holocausts, for chrissakes.

Us Chinese people who are still alive today should be fervently praying for America's collapse as a hegemon, otherwise we all run the risk of annihilation.

Note: what have the Chinese done to Americans to merit annihilation? The chinese don't even say the same about the Japanese who killed tens of millions chinese over more than a decade of war and colonization. Or the brits, who forced opium down the
throats of the Chinese for more than a century.
