What are some advantages and disadvantages to the Chinese dominant party political system?
    Advantages:

It is meritocratic. Only competent, intelligent officials with a proven track record can rise up in the ranks of government. Thus, you will never have leaders like Donald Trump, Justin Trudeau, Boris Johnson, and Scott Morrison.
Being a one-party system means that good policies are generally created without partisan compromises.
Policies can be executed efficiently without hindrance from regular elections and possible changes of government.
Wealthy oligarchs have a much harder time buying off officials without campaign financing and lobbying. In the West, this kind of corruption is institutionalized.
When there is corruption, it’s much easier to sweep it all away, as Xi Jinping did in his first term.
    Disadvantages:

Having only one ruling party means that while other parties can present diverse political views during consultation, they cannot force any of their views through to the government. The ruling party has the final say, so it better be good.
The ruling party makes the laws. Effectively, the ruling party is the law. Depending on your stance, this may be an advantage or a disadvantage.
China’s political system is not perfect. However, it has proven to be much more effective and much more responsive to the people than any Western democracy.
