What will China be like after 20 more years of Xi’s dictatorship?
The way things are going, and keeping China's current trajectory, it is highly likely that China will be the world's leading power ahead of the United States after the passage of Xi Jinping.

Xi Jinping will be remembered as the president who enabled China to regain the status it considers it should have: that of the world's leading power.

Many Chinese will take pride in all this.

Behind this incredible achievement, Westerners will find fault with the fact that China is a dictatorship where human rights are not respected.

They will say that the surveillance society based on the Chinese social credit system is a catastrophe that oppresses hundreds of millions of Chinese.

They will not be wrong. However, this is the point of view of Westerners.

The Chinese are pretty happy overall, though. This form of governance is cultural. They are used to it.

It's all they know anyway. So they can't compare it with the freedom of citizens in Western countries. When you don't know something, you can't miss it.

Many Chinese people come to terms with this situation with the understanding that if they follow the rules of the Chinese Communist Party, they will be able to prosper. This is something they could not hope for before.

And that's why Xi Jinping remains very popular despite what Westerners think.
