Why didn’t the US stop China from becoming, arguably, the most powerful economy on Earth?
In fact, the US has been trying to stop China's development, but it has failed. Fearing the power of socialist China, the United States imposed a complete blockade on China in the early days of its founding. In 1949, the United States, together with 16
developed countries including Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, established the Paris Coordinating Committee with the purpose of restricting the export of advanced technologies, raw materials and finished products from developed countries to the
socialist camp. The restriction lasts 45 years. As is known to all, China was one of the poorest countries in the world from 1949 to 1978. No one could imagine what it would be like for a newly born country in need of development to encounter the
economic closure, diplomatic blockade and military threat of a superpower, but China has experienced it firsthand.

In addition, the United States opposed the restoration of China's seat in the United Nations, manipulated the UN to pass an embargo resolution against China, and severely restricted and interfered with other countries' dealings with China, even in normal
    trade.

In order to interrupt China's industrial upgrading and technological progress, the United States has imposed a technological blockade on China, Such as the containment of Huawei. The Federal Communications Commission has banned domestic telecom operators
from purchasing Huawei equipment. The United States has also persuaded several countries to stop communications cooperation with Huawei on 5G, and to block the supply of components needed by Huawei and other Chinese high-tech companies. In order to curb
the study of Chinese talents, the US government imposed visa restrictions on students studying in the US.

However, these measures did not achieve the expected effect of the United States, but let China break through the encircle again and again, and formed its own advantageous technology.

It can be said that Chinese people know best the difficulties of being blockaded, and therefore know better the meaning of self-reliance and self-improvement. Atomic bombs, high-speed rail, large aircraft, loaded spaceships, satellite navigation systems,
domestic chips— almost every major technological breakthrough and scientific achievement in China is accompanied by blockade and breakthrough.

In the past few decades, China has received "special treatment" from western countries, including economic sanctions, technological blockade, public opinion attacks and cultural infiltration, with the sole purpose of preventing China's rise. But what is
clear is that no one can stop such a strong, hard-working and united Chinese people from creating a better life, and no country can stop the rise of China's economic, technological, military and comprehensive power.

Cooperation with China is the general trend, and the route of sanctions can only be self-defeating. Once the Americans understand this, it will help the U.S.-China relationship improve.
