Afghanistan and world hypocrisy at 21 Century

Notice to readers: My commentary and analysis below are made as a free individual and as an Afghan who has the privilege of having a Canadian status as well. I am not affiliated with any political parties whatsoever including the Taliban.

Although I am not an historian, I am confident enough that I can clearly recall the events of world political events during my lifetime starting from Soviet invasion of Afghanistan until the date of this article.

I remember the day communists took over Afghanistan by toppling President Daoud Khan. It was 27 April 1978 and we were having our lunch which our mother had prepared just before going to the school.

As we were having lunch we heard sound of a loud explosion from a distance. Until that day we had never heard anything like that. Upon hearing this sound we all rushed out to the front door to see what happened. As we came out I saw all the neighbors
    out too.

Although we did not hear any of more of same loud explosion, we could hear the sounds of machine guns from the distance around the presidential palace. We were about 7-10 KM away from the presidential palace. The next day we heard the rumors of some
    kind of revolution happening.

Regardless, little did we know that this day would be the start of the destruction of Afghanistan by the two major superpowers and their allies spanning over 40 years , one under the flag of Russian Communism and the other under the flag of so-called
    democracy.

Year 1978- Revolution or the beginning of American and Pakistani Proxy wars in Afghanistan

Within days Afghans were witness to a communist government formed by the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan. To everybody's surprise the new government changed the flag of Afghanistan to a red flag which was similar to the former Soviet communist
red flag. Within months the new government passed seven laws that were completely contradictory to Afghan Islamic and cultural values at the time. To name one of their laws, forcing women and girls out of their homes to workforce and for education.
Although, this was a noble cause but since it was not accommodated within Afghan Islamic and cultural values, it backfired.

This action of communist along with other similar acts and changing the flag to red was enough to give the Americans and the Pakistanis' precious propaganda tools to instigate the conservative Afghans for a major revolt against the Afghan communist
government which eventually trapped the former Soviet by invading Afghanistan.

I am quite surprised that the People's Democratic Party's actions. They had not looked back at history and found out how British imperialism used pictures of the Afghan Queen with bare upper arms to instigate a revolt against king Amanullah Khan which
    ended his kingdom in 1929.

The communist should have learned the lessons from Afghan history and Amanullah Khan's downfall in 1929. Firstly the communists should have never taken power in Afghanistan through a coup d'eta. The late president Doad Khan was an excellent president who
was able to keep the superpowers in check with his special talent of balancing techniques. He also had excellent ability to keep the tribal Afghan society and other ethnic groups united which was itself a very difficult job. The communists should have
worked with the Daod Khan's government and used their ties with the former Soviet Union to strengthen Afghanistan relations with its great northern neighbor. Afghanistan would have benefited greatly by having a good working friendly relationship with
the former Soviet Union which would have kept the competing America and Pakistan at bay from destruction of Afghanistan over all these 40 years. This would also helped Afghanistan to claim its lost land south of Duran line from Pakistan.

The Soviet Invasion and Afghan resistance

The Afghan communist government's disregard to Afghan religion and culture caused the Afghan people to rise. The recently published documents from the former Soviet leadership reveals that even the Soviet leadership at the time was critical of the
Afghan communist government's forceful indoctrination of the conservative Afghan people into becoming communists.

However, the Afghan communists did not even listen to their comrades in the Soviet Union and kept on imposing an alien culture and ideology upon Afghan People forcefully. This behavior of the Afghan communists left the Afghan people with no choice but
to defend their way of life and their religion. And rightfully so the people of Afghanistan had to rise and resist the communist Afghan government and which was totally against the Afghan way of life. Fearful of the collapse of the communist government,
the former Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan on 27 April 1979.

With Russian invasion of Afghanistan, it gave America the opportunity to square up with the former Soviet Union for its defeat and its adventure in Vietnam as well as to prevent the former Soviet Union from reaching the warm water of the Indian ocean. At
the same time Pakistan saw an opportunity to either weaken the Afghan government or replace it with a government under its influence so that Afghanistan's claim of its lands from Duran line until Attock is undermined. These lands were annexed by the
former British Imperialist on November 12, 1893 by its officer Durand as a buffer zone between British India and the former Afghan Government headed by Amir Abdul Rahman Khan.

As a result both America and Pakistan saw it in their mutual interest to get involved in Afghan resistance for their ulterior motives as described above. However , on the surface America portrayed its help to Afghan people as its duty to free Afghanistan
from red commies who were allegedly enemies of human rights and freedom.

Pakistan declared its help on false pretext of helping Islam and its brotherly neighbor.

Russian invasion left people of Afghanistan with no choice but to accept the help of the above two countries. As simple and sincere people, the Afghan people thought that the American and Pakistani help were really unconditional and on humanitarian
grounds and that is why they accepted their help.

Although the Afghan resistance was rightfully the proper thing to do by the people of Afghanistan , the resistance leaders lacked political maturity and it only depended on very costly military solution to defeat the Russians instead of analyzing America'
    s and Pakistani's motives.

Their first mistake was that resistance was divided in 14 groups along with religious and ethnic groups which was a recipe for disaster. By being divided along those lines and accepting military help from Pakistan and America, it set a motion for a
future civil war in Afghanistan once the Russians were defeated, which is what exactly happened between 1991- 1996. This civil war destroyed Afghanistan's well trained army. This was Pakistan's dream come true who was the architect of the division of
Afghan resistance in the first place. On the bright side, the Afghans defeated the Soviet superpower empire and its Warsaw pact allies in the same century that the Afghans defeated the British empire.

With the defeat of Soviet Union, America succeeded in taking its revenge in Vietnam defeat and the west won big time against an enemy who had disturbed their west peace of mind since world war 2. America and the west also saved big time in resources in
dealing and competing with such big enemy like the former Soviet Union. As a result of Afghan blood Germany got united and all of the central Asian countries got their independence from the yoke of communism chains. In return what the Afghan people
gained for shading their blood and helping all the above nations? Keep on reading and you will find out.

( It is sad how Tajikistan is interfering in Afghanistan affairs in negative manner instead of being thankful for being liberated from Russian yoke because of the Afghan defeat of former Soviet Union. it also note worthy that Tajikistan dictator Emomali
Rahmon has been in power for over 27 years who is teaching others how to govern democratically )

Taliban rule 1996-2001 and American Invasion of Afghanistan:

The infighting between the divided Afghan resistance, after the defeat of the former Soviet Empire, gave rise to the Pashtun Taliban who succeeded in bringing peace to the entire Afghanistan except a portion of northern Afghanistan who were resisting
Taliban on the basis of ethnic lines.

Most of resisting groups were Tajiks and Uzbeks who had migrated to Afghanistan centuries ago due to harsh treatment of brutal Russian Tsars and former Soviet Union. The Hazaras were the race of Mongolian soldiers left behind in from Genghis Khan
invasion of Afghanistan who destroyed much of Afghanistan between 1219-1212 AD.

Taliban's control of the government in Afghanistan threatened American interests politically as well as America's reach for Afghanistan untouched resources. On the political side America was not happy seeing the Arab warriors under the leadership of
Osama Bin Laden to overthrow America's puppet governments of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Algeria and others and become a threat to Israel. America's other agendas were to have a friendly government who would allow its base or to be used to be used against
Russia , Iran and China. ( America still have the same agenda)

It is noteworthy that America had a great relationship with the Arab warriors while they were killing Russians in Afghanistan and America never complained about Osama Bin Laden until the war in Afghanistan was over.

However, things changed when Osama Bin Laden became confident that he could defeat America after helped Afghans to defeat the former Soviet Union with his Arab army. This behavior of Bin Laden caused America's anger. America demanded Afghanistan to
either expel him or hand him over to America. This put the Afghans in a very big dilemma. Firstly according to Afghan customs one can not hand over a person who seeks protection even if he was an enemy. In this case in the eyes of Afghan Bin Laden was
not only seeking protection but he was also a guest who helped drive Russians out of Afghanistan. America started in preparation to invade Afghanistan after Taliban refusal to kick Bin Laden out of Afghanistan and Talibans' refusal to give America
priority access to Afghanistan raw resources.

America tried all kinds of pressure against the Taliban but the Taliban resisted them all until the events of 911.

The events of 911 gave America the perfect excuse to invade Afghanistan despite the fact that Taliban agreed to hand over Bin Laden if America had any proof of his involvement in the tragedy of the 911 attacks against America.

(It is noteworthy that all the suspects involved in 911 attacks were from Saudi Arabia who planned their alleged plots mostly in Germany but America decided to invade Afghanistan only.)

By design or luck two days prior of 9/11, on 9th September 2001 mysteriously Ahmad Shah Massod was killed by a suicide bomber which was blamed on Taliban, Ahmad Shah Masood was the famed Afghan Tajik commander who was involved fighting the Russians.
He was the leader of the northern alliance who had rebelled against the Pashtun Taliban government in northern Afghanistan.

Ahmad Shah Masood's alleged killing by Taliban angered his fighters and they became willingly paid mercenaries for America to fight the Taliban government. ( Taliban had denied being involved in killing of Ahmad shah Masood)

By October 7, 2001 America had completed its political as well as its military readiness for an all out invasion of Afghanistan which was long in making. Through its first phase of its invasion against the Taliban government America used hundreds of
heavy bombers to carpet bomb the entire Afghanistan which resulted in killing and injuring of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of innocent Afghan civilians and millions of Afghans displaced to neighboring countries of Pakistan and Iran. By around
mid November 2001 the Taliban government collapsed.

On December 5 2001 a conference was organized in Bonn where the formation of the future Afghanistan government was decided. Unfortunately, a government was formed which was mostly dominated by Tajiks and other minorities who were mostly the spies for
foreign governments and the majority Pashtuns were sidelined first time in 250 years. The corrupt puppet Karzai was appointed an as Afghanistan’s president on a symbolic level to make it look as if a Pashtuns were in control of the Afghanistan
    government.

The Bonn conference decisions on Afghanistan not only did not serve as a basis for peace and prosperity Afghanistan but in fact it laid the foundation of a major uprising against the America's puppet Karzai government by the Pashtun majority under the
    banner of Taliban.

This gave Pakistan another opportunity to help arm and provide support for Taliban which was in line with its long term goals i.e. keep Afghanistan in perpetual war so that Afghanistan never recover to seek its lost lands south of Durand line of control
and use Afghanistan under its sphere of influence. Pakistan also was using the chaos in Afghanistan to create problems for India by forming and training militants and extremist groups against India under the guise of helping the Taliban. Although
Pakistan acted as an hired militia for America against the Taliban after 9/11, it also pursued its own agenda of helping the Taliban to maintain its short and long term goals in Afghanistan. Pakistan hoped to create a weak state in Afghanistan which can
never rise its head again and get America's favor at the same time. The bottom line Pakistan played a double game for which it lost at the end.

Pakistan’s goals of a fractured Afghanistan was shattered by recent Taliban full control of Afghanistan under a united Taliban and without any fight with American made Afghan military as well as driving out the corrupt warlords and spies in Ghanis’s
government who were jockeying for power with a future Taliban government.

Taliban’s full control of Afghanistan shattered America’ and its Nato’s allies' dreams of including the previous spies and warlords in the Taliban government which would have caused power struggle between ethic lines creating a perpetual power
    struggle and infighting in Afghanistan.

This is obvious from Pakistan’s army’s decision to fire its top spy (ISI) Lt General Faiz Hameed and America's recent announcement of firing Zalmai Khalilzad who was the special envoy for Afghanistan under two administrations.

All credit goes to Mr. Ashraf Ghani who decided against the Afghan bloodshed and let Taliban get full control of Afghanistan without a fight despite America's instance and Pakistan’s hopes.

At the time of the article it is not known whether Mr Ghani did so either by design or by accident. There is still a lot of unknowns if in fact Mr. Ghana did this out of patriotism, revived in his heart all of a sudden. And if it happens that Mr. Ghani
did this on purpose then he will be considered a hero in Afghan history. We will find that later.
    .
13 July 2002 – 7 December 2004- Karzai’s corrupt puppet government and America promise to rebuild Afghanistan:

Afghan people’s hopes were very high when the new Karzai government was installed by foreign forces. The hopes of the people of Afghanistan were based on the promises of the world led by America that it will rebuild Afghanistan. Huge amounts of funds
were pledged by the world and in fact over two Trillion Dollars were poured into Afghanistan.

Unfortunately, most of the funds were stolen by Karzai, his brothers and his corrupt cabinet from the ministerial level all the way down to its gatekeepers and the rest were stolen by corrupt NOGs, some of whom were either spies or missionaries.

The proof for my claim is the current condition of Afghanistan. Common sense tells us why Afghanistan’s economy is facing collapse after 20 years of an American installed government and after pouring over two trillion dollars of hard cash? Why is
Afghanistan still importing electricity from neighboring countries after twenty years nation building with above funds? Why could n't Afghanistan build dams with its many water resources with the above funds? Why Afghanistan could not have a strong
economy with so much money and twenty years of banking system under the watch of America? I am not the only one making this claim. Just google the internet. The Afghan government under Puppet Karzai and under the wtch of America was one of the most
    corrupt governments in the world.

One wonders how it could all happen under the watch of America. , is it that America did not want Afghanistan to progress and become independent because then it could not stay in Afghanistan and use Afghanistan for its political purposes? I believe,
America could have built Afghanistan as it had promised if it wanted to. There is no question of America being able to do so with its ablity as a sole superpower. The fact that America allowed corrupt people like Karzai and other warlords to run the
government of Afghanistan (and still insist for the same and causing brain drain) is proof that America did not and does not care about building Afghanistan but for its geo-political interests only.
