There are some very public people who you sometimes agree with and
sometimes don’t agree with — and that’s okay. NBA Hall of Famer and
basketball commentator Charles Barkley is one of those people, and
this time he said something that everyone from every walk of life
should be able to get on board with.
During CBS’ Saturday coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four,
Barkley gave his two cents on who he believes are the driving force
behind the divisions between people in the U.S.
“Man, I think most white people and black people are great people. I
really believe that in my heart,” Barkely began. “But I think our
system is set up where our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, are designed to make us not like each other so they can
keep their grasp of money and power. They divide and conquer.”
Barkley is 100 percent dead on. It’s not so much about “Republican”
and “Democrat” anymore. It’s more about the elites versus everyone
else, and how they do everything within their power — essentially using whatever tools are at their disposal — so that the average person
isn’t invited to their party.
The former college and NBA star expanded on his thought and pointed
out the naivety that the vast majority of people are guilty of at
times.
I truly believe in my heart most white people and black people
are awesome people. But we’re so stupid following our
politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats. And
their only job is, ‘Hey, let’s make these people not like each
other. We don’t live in their neighborhoods. We all got money.
Let’s make the whites and blacks not like each other. Let’s
make rich people and poor people not like each other. Let’s
scramble the middle class. I truly believe that in my heart.
Everything Barkely said is correct, but he forgot to mention on very
important aspect to the story — the elitist media. They are the
propaganda arm of the politicians and do their bidding in a way that
subverts people into thinking that the sides that should be opposing
each other are the ones they tell everyone to be at odds with.
Other than that, spot on, “Sir Charles.”
