(KRON) — Two people were shot at Skyline High School’s graduation ceremony
in Oakland on Thursday night, the Oakland Police Department confirmed.
The victims are both adults — one man and one woman. They are both in
stable condition.
Two people were detained in connection to the shooting, OPD said.
The shooting happened inside the school at about 7:45 p.m., per OPD.
Police have indicated that there is no ongoing danger to the community and
the school is now safe.
According to witnesses, the shots were heard after the ceremony ended, prompting people to run for safety.
There was a heavy police presence at the school following the shooting.
OPD said California Highway Patrol responded to assist.
