EAST LANSING, MI - The Michigan State University Board of Trustees will
meet at 10 p.m. Sunday to discuss the results of an investigation that
found Board Chair Rema Vassar and Trustee Dennis Denno had committed such serious violations of Board policy that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer should
consider removing them from office.
The investigation, conducted at MSU’s request by the Washington, D.C., law
firm Miller & Chevalier, found that both Vassar and Denno conspired with students to publicly embarrass interim President Teresa Woodruff and to
attack Jack Lipton, the chair of MSU’s Faculty Senate and a professor of neuroscience, after he introduced a resolution calling for Vassar to
resign.
