An Ohio man was arrested for an alleged violent attack on a woman who ran
over his foot with her wheelchair.

The suspect is accused of strangling the woman with a pool noodle after flipping her over in her wheelchair, Knewz.com has learned.

The woman told police Carl Chastang attacked her on Saturday, October 28
at a home in southeast Columbus.

She said Chastang became angry after her electric wheelchair accidentally rolled over his foot, according to the criminal complaint obtained by
    WCMH-TV in Columbus.

Prosecutors say the defendant flipped the wheelchair over with the victim
still in it before punching and kicking her several times. He then
allegedly grabbed a pool noodle and strangled the victim with it,
    according to WCMH-TV.

Despite the victim asking him to call for help, Chastang reportedly left
her on the floor, where she lay with three broken ribs until the next day
    when medical help finally arrived.

The victim was "seriously harmed," according to court records.

The woman said Chastang demanded she stay quiet about the attack,
threatening to retaliate if she told hospital staff what he did to her,
WCMH-TV reported. WCMH reports the man's age as 77 years old; court
    records indicate he is 67.

Chastang was arrested on Monday, October 30, and arraigned on one count of felonious assault the next day, according to Franklin County court
records. He was held on a $25,000 bond. His next court appearance is
    scheduled for November 9.

The news of the alleged wheelchair attack came as Knewz.com reported on
two other criminal cases in Franklin County.

On Monday, October 30, Knewz.com reported the latest on a former social
worker in Columbus who is charged with having ongoing sexual conduct with
her 13-year-old client. While she was out on bond, Payton Shires, 24, reportedly showed up at the victim's house with a gun and threatened his mother.

On Friday, October 27, Knewz.com reported on Columbus woman Rebecca
Auborn, 33, who was charged with the murders of four men who she allegedly drugged during sexual meet-ups where she would steal their possessions.
