SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Police release new details regarding an
early morning crash Saturday where the body of a woman who was
shot to death was found inside the car.
The woman killed was 32-year-old Shandon Nicole Scott.
According to Danielle Croyle, Public Information Officer for
South Salt Lake Police, paramedics and police responded to the
freeway near 200 East in Salt Lake City after a car crashed into
the median at around 3 a.m.
The freeway was closed for hours between the 700 East and State
Street as investigators were on scene.
Police say Scott and her boyfriend, whose name has not yet been
released, were in a domestic violence dispute at a home near
Nibley Park in Millcreek, Utah.
Police say the boyfriend was driving the car, crashed it into
the median, got out and took off. Police later found and
arrested the suspect.
Police say that Scott was shot sometime during the domestic
violence situation, but they don't know when and where she was
shot. That's still under investigation.
The boyfriend has yet to be booked into jail, but it's expected
he will face murder charges.
