(KUTV) -- A woman was found dead from a gunshot wound after a
crash on I-80 westbound in Salt Lake early Saturday morning
around 3 a.m.

According to Danielle Croyle, Public Information Officer for
South Salt Lake Police, paramedics and police responded to the
freeway near 200 East in Salt Lake City after a car crashed into
the median.

The deceased woman was found in the vehicle.

The freeway was closed for hours between the 700 East and State
Street as investigators were on scene.

The death was deemed "suspicious" at the time of this post.

No suspects at the time of this post.

Investigators were also looking at possible evidence at a second
site away from the freeway.

It is not known whether the woman was shot on the freeway or
another location,

Croyle said an autopsy will be performed to determine cause of
death.
