The search for three Detroit rappers who mysteriously vanished last month
has come to a tragic end after the bodies of all three men were found in a basement.
On Thursday, Armani Kelly, Montoya Givens, and Dante Wicker were found
deceased under debris inside the basement of an abandoned Highland Park apartment. Sources close to the investigation confirmed to Detroit News
that the bodies in the building belonged to the missing men, who
disappeared on January 21st.
The chain of events unfolded when Kelly left his home in Oscoda and headed
to Detroit to perform at Lounge 31. He met up with friends Givens and
Wicker once in the city, also aspiring artists who were scheduled to hit
the stage with him. However, Kelly called his family at around 5:00 p.m.
that day while in Detroit to inform them that the show had been canceled
due to equipment issues. He said he would try performing at another venue. Shortly after, his phone was powered off, along with Givens’ and Wicker’s. Kelly’s mother, Lorrie Kemp, grew concerned when she hadn’t spoken to her
son the next day and tracked his Gray Chevrolet Equinox to Warren. Police confiscate wasd the car on January 23rd with mud on it and the license
plate missing.
Hours before the bodies were discovered, police disclosed that a 15-year-
old boy was found in Kelly’s car. It is unclear if he had any involvement
with the men’s deaths.
Givens’ mother, Cat Fogle, was notified that the bodies were found around
4:30 p.m. The distraught woman told Detroit News, “I don’t know what I’m
going to do.”
No additional information was revealed regarding the conditions of the
bodies, but Members of the Homicide Task Force were on the scene.
