There is no justification for the belief that the designer(God) is a micro-manager. The evidence suggest the designer "simply set things in motion" and left the scene.

If God left the scene there would be no scene.

For example: reproduction! Maybe the designer could have created each
and every living thing as death occurred. But it had other things that
needed it's attention. It designed life to take care of itself via reproduction. A unique capability. There is nothing other than life that
can reproduce highly complex matter such as the living cell.
Furthermore, it's virtually impossible for highly  complex information necessary for the first living cell came through random, purposeless and mindless processes. In each and ever known case of highly complex
information a mind was always at play. This fact alone cast doubt as to naturalism in the origin of information in living cells.
 Apart from living systems there is no other equally complex processes
that ever arose naturally. And this too cast doubt on naturalism as the originator of life's complexity.

Well, no thing can create itself.

So the argument is that everything always was (e.g., eternal), but that
too is a fallacy because nothing would ever die. And then the argument
is, well, we are just recycled into something else when we die, and so
on, but atheism doesn't even believe that because they are always
looking for the origin of change in change.
