The cannibal got canned.
CBS News reports that Stefano Brizzi died while in police
custody just three months after being handed a life sentence for
murdering British police officer Gordon Semple.
After meeting the 30-year veteran of the Metropolitan Police
through the dating app Grindr, Brizzi strangled him to death,
claiming it was a "sex game gone wrong," then proceeded to cook
and eat parts of Semple's body.
Finally, he attempted to dissolve his victim's remains in a
bathtub full of hydrofluoric acid.
The meth addict would admit his decision to try and melt
Semple's body with chemicals was inspired by the TV show
"Breaking Bad."
"I accept I considered without any rationality at all. I think I
was inspired by that idea," Brizzi said in court. "I took
whatever was there, thinking maybe I can dissolve him. The bath
was absolutely tiny, I had no knives, no saws, anything in
particular out of the ordinary."
Evidence presented against Brizzi included chopsticks bearing
the police officer's DNA as well as one of Semple's ribs thrown
in a trash can behind Brizzi's apartment that had apparently
been gnawed on.
According to the Evening-Standard, the 50-year-old Italian's
cause death is currently considered unexplained, but it's
believed it was a suicide.
