Omicron may spread more easily than other Covid variants
because it contains piece of common cold virus - and surge
in cases among under-nines in South Africa 'could mean its
more infectious in young people'
. . . .
This is worrisome ... either it's a pure genetic accident
or the thing is actually hybridizing with other viruses
also present.
In other news ... Biden has a "cold", allegedly caught
from Beau the grandkid.
SURE it's a cold ?
In any case, cold-enhanced Covid or Covid-enhanced cold -
it's bad news. And, as they said, it's likely to spread
like mad amongst the kiddies.
Influenza is back this year. Will Covid hybridize with
THAT ? Might be twice as bad - and that'd be a plague
for the record books (if anyone's left to write them).
Imagine the fall of Rome - but without the cloistered
monks to keep reading and writing alive. Modern media
won't work after 25 years or so .. and probably needs
batteries that won't be around either.
