• Parkson Mall in Malaysia has been loss-making for three consectuive yea

From april@21:1/5 to All on Fri Dec 6 01:00:12 2019
SGX-listed Parkson Retail Mall in Malaysia has been loss-making sales for
three consecutive years is now under watch list by SGX. Parkson department stores in Malaysia had closed many stores after sales were below
expectations, and new ones were opened elsewhere to pursue new location opportunities.

Some were resizing with some was even closed after opening for 18 months
only. With shrinking income, the market is very challenging and very difficult. Shopping malls in the region are now going through an upheaval of collapses and and renewals.

The online shopping business has taken a bulk away from their physical
shopping experiences. With retrenchment on the rise and joblessness on the rise, the shopping mall will likely be filled by them.

They will be walking around shops in shopping mall to air-condition
themselves and day-dreaming as though they were having a job of walking
around. They probably will under depression loitering around looking a their mobile phone.

    Good morning!
Abt parkson mall closing....its a matter of time. If its not owned by Robert Kuok group..its aldy closed long time ago.. Other supermarkets like 'giant'...'tesco' aldy closed few outlets. Why they close?
In sg we got tîs 'sheng sheong'.. In malaysia they got this 'NSK'...killing all their competitors..

Retailers are doomed because people, especially the young, are buying online.

Don't know about Giant Tampines, but Giant seems to be doing well generally. Retailers selling household goods must be located in the heartlands to survive.

Previously Giant came wit a bang...very popular... Lately most of its outlets seem to fade away.. Even those private retailors tat occupied their shops witin the supermarket..u see vacant shop lots a common sight in those Giant outlets across malaysia..
I think its becos of 'NSK' supermarket tat kill them all.. Cos its price is like wholesale price.. In fact, most foodstalĺs n restaurants got their foodstuffs frm NSK at wholesale price..they dont go to Giant to get their supplies anymore..

I'm Hong Kong based, where there is plenty of shopping centres. But
they are not as big as those in Malaysia and I guess that's why they're
still in business. Somehow in Hong Kong brick-and-mortar stores
    co-exist with online shopping.
