Read one of Didi's poems: Tumi sagor, aami dheu; tumi kutta, aami gheu; tumi mosha, aami macchee; tume neyi, aami aachee.

Superb! As an expression of frustrated spinsterhood, it is incomparable in terms of economy and power manifested from the disillusionment of direct personal experience. Pure poetry.

The significant other in an early romantic state is the ocean, but with the maturity and experience of the poetess turns out to be nothing better than a dog, degrades to a mosquito, then to nothing. What a trenchant criticism of the Bengali male!

The protagonist starts from the emotional state, grows in reality, and as a result of being political is like a housefly buzzing around spreading disease, but is still something, not nothing. Sad it is, but honest, and so, as showing truth which is the
basis of worthy literature, eminently laudable. Joy Ma Kali!
