HA HA ! Luke was originally meant to be a GIRL and
Leia a BLONDE !
And Vader's mask - you could see his eyes.
Solo and the walking carpet ... pretty much the same,
however 3CPO looked a little more human.
And Obi-Wan was to have, briefly, survived his duel
with Vader.
Just goes to show how much work goes into such films
before the final vision is realized.
Lucas was almost in dispair afterwards - realized
he'd made a "kiddie sci-fi" movie that'd be difficult
to redeem ... so he never really tried ... cutie
kiddie-friendly figures to the end :-)
Actually, "Rogue One" was perhaps the better movie -
even with a vastly lower budget and lesser-known
actors. It ended badly for them ... no smiles
and sunshine, except for the approaching nuclear
fireball.
Now the BRITS - they make HORRIFIC kiddie movies ...
terrible things happen, far more Real World without
apologies. Bad Things happen in abundance ... cutie-
wootie figures DIE horribly and/or are viciously
exploited (or worse) ...
