Riveting video shows killer whales attacking race yachts:
'Three orcas came straight at us and started hitting the rudders'

Intense video shows the moment that killer whales attacked
yachts competing in a race. The orcas rammed, bit, and nudged
the boats in the Atlantic Ocean.

A pod of orcas attacked two race yachts competing in the
Ocean Race — an international sailing race that started
in 1973. The Ocean Race for this year started in January
in Alicante, Spain, and concludes in Genova, Italy, at
    the end of June.

    . . .

Revenge - or just a new fun game ?

In any case they've collectively LEARNED how
to hurt boats in a fairly short timeframe.
    This demonstrates fair IQ.

"Ships" don't have to worry - WAY beyond the
whale's abilities to damage. But smaller
    fishing/pleasure boats ...

Is there anything to DO ? Can't go around
killing the things - there's MAJOR politics
    and public sentiment against THAT.

    Hmmm ... perhaps "noise-makers" ??? The
beasties WILL be acutely sensitive to
underwater sounds. See 'em in this sort
of 'play mode' nearby, push the button.
Some kind of chemical repellent might be
useful too - I wonder if 'pepper spray'
    might make things very uncomfortable
for the whales to be around.
