Looks like they're all dead now and the deadly implosion actually occurred several days ago!! The tv networks kept the story alive to distract us from the hunter biden plea deal scandal.
Bingo !
It's wag the dog.
DID use up a lot of "headline time" :-)
OTOH, most people didn't CARE what happened
to a handful of ultra-rich people Way Down
There.
Everybody who counts KNEW the thing was gonna
implode or something eventually. James Cameron
especially. It was JUNK and of a BAD design
for repeated trips to those extreme depths.
Carbon/Epoxy IS strong, but as the Boston Tunnel
disaster revealed, under prolonged stress the
epoxy component 'creeps' and suffers micro-fractures.
Oh well, they signed the waivers and paid their
money .... their choice ...........
Anyway, the Titanic body-count just went up a bit.
And no, they're not gonna find much more than the
odd fingertip or whatever - ain't worth it. The
water coming in would have been like a steel
ram powered by explosives. And the deepEST part
of the ocean is almost three times further down.
Super-thick steel/titanium balls are the only
real solution there. James Cameron DID help
design, and was present on, a sub that reached
that ultimate depth. The people-sphere was
quite TINY, and of super-strong metal.
