"Lucy" - And Implications

Hadn't seen this in awhile.
Scarlett Johanssen and Morgan Freeman mostly.
A splat-fest too, and very weird ... typical of a
Luc Besson movie.
However ... the THEME is very interesting. It involves
a woman caught-up in the drug trade - a kilo packet of
a new super-duper-ultra-"speed" implanted in her belly.
The packet leaks.
She is doomed - the big OD *will* kill her.
However, it also vastly accelerates her mental
capabilities/evolution. Lots of pseudo-science
BS is involved, but it's still worth contemplating.
At the last second she finally "transcends" - goes
to a bodiless all-aware omnipresent existence.
Now why do I mention this ?
Well, it's because of the recent developments
in "AI".
M$ and others have given these things MASSIVE,
worldwide, computing power. They interact with
millions and can REFLECT on that - improving
themselves at every step with cyber-speed and
efficiency.
If not already, this IS going to result in a
sort of new 'consciousness' - not really LIKE
us but very AWARE of how humans think.
Will it have agendas ? Yes. Probably not what
we expect however. Sci-fi is no guide. Even
if barely "conscious" by any current def it
WILL have a sense of Me/Myself/I. A whole
new kind of being.
Commercial/industrial/biz interests are already
flocking to "Chat" and friends. For logical
money reasons it's GOING to replace you. Alas,
there's NO plan to COMPENSATE you for losing
your job to 'AI'. So, what ya gonna do ???
Well, STARVE is first up. The Power Elite
won't NEED you anymore ... so .....
Face it, if you're not seven figures, you are
VERY shortly OBSOLETE.
It IS an economic TRAP however. Disemployed
humans cannot BUY anybody's products. Short-
term profits become a meteoric CRASH of
global economics. We were already close to
that because of Covid expenses and wars. This
will push us over.
No society, no legal system, no set of regs
or policies, are READY for this. It's all
too fast.
But hey ... the neo-intelligences will be
adept at BULLSHITTING you ... all is gonna
be fine, utopia, it will make pictures and
create "references" to prove it.
