FAILED opposition leader Juan Guaido warned of plans to silence
Venezuelan TV station Telesur on Saturday, claiming that the state media
outlet “supports terrorists.”
“In the next few days we keep moving forward: tomorrow we announce the
steps to recover the Telesur signal in the continent,” he said on Twitter.
And in a video recording he said that he intends to block the channel’s ability to report, claiming that it “supports terrorists,” without offering any supporting evidence.
The move comes days after Mr Guiado was ousted as speaker of the
National Assembly and was described as “a dream that turned into a nightmare” by the Venezuelan opposition.
In a chaotic session he was replaced by right-wing politician Luis
Parra, but refused to accept the outcome of the vote and held his own
meeting outside the opposition El Nacional newspaper.
His bid to oust the democratically elected President Nicolas Maduro
backfired spectacularly with a series of humiliating failures to launch
an armed uprising.
The people of Venezuela and its military have continued to support Mr
Maduro and the Bolivarian government.
