Apollo 4 was the first launch of the full SIC, SII, SIVB, LM, CSM stack.
It was rather [in]famous for the acoustics at takeoff; it was far louder
than predicted. That did millions of dollars of damage to the launch facilities.
Walter Cronkite was covering it from a small trailer on
scaffolding behind the press bleachers, 3 miles back from LC-39.
At launch, his trailer shook so badly the ceiling was falling on
Cronkite.
I've searched unsuccessfully for a clip showing this, with his
arms covering his head, but continuing to report.
Has anyone seen/found this clip?
