A major problem is that the majority of children in foster care currently get "mental health" treatment, usually including one or more psychiatric drugs. bill in the California Legislature--AB 1424--that would outlaw this last practice.

A Protest for CPS & Judicial Reform

Saturday December 6, 2003 – 10am to 4pm

A PRESS CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD AT 12 NOON

A petition that already includes over 100,000 signatures, will be circulated to demand the Honorable Attorney General John Ashcroft place a consent
decree on the Los Angeles County Courts.

The purpose of this demonstration is to:

1) increase public awareness of the abuse of children and families by the Juvenile Courts and Child Protective Services (CPS);
2) request Governor Schwarzenegger order a statewide investigation and audit of CPS (DCFS) and the Juvenile Court System in all California counties;
3) disclose the results of two investigations into illegal, immoral, and unjust policies, practices, and procedures by the Department of Children and Family Services;
4) address changing State and Federal laws to make child welfare services (CPS) accountable for unethical and illegal actions, blatent disregard of established laws, due process and abuse of power.
