Dono, Bodkin, Roberts, Andersen, Moroney/Volney and other posts (parrot kind of doctrine/narratives) will vanish in oblivion. Good.

Nope. Usenet will live on, and it will be more like it once was without
the noise from Giggle Groups. I expect these groups to be much more
quiet without Google but the quality of posts is likely to improve.

Of course the tards* from Google Groups can still access Usenet the
"old" way, but now there are intelligence hurdles of finding and
installing a newsreader and signing up for an NNTP provider.

    Mine? I couldn't care less.

Of course you care! When your hateful OCD kicks in hard and you just
have to post hateful crap, what are you going to do since you can't just
drool and click on Google Groups? (I doubt you'll be able to pass the
    low intelligence hurdles mentioned)

(*) I know there are quite a few non-tards with much worthwhile to say
who currently use Giggle Groups. They won't have any trouble with the intelligence hurdles (more like speed bumps), of course.

    Eternal-september is a free NNTP provider. https://www.newsgroupreviews.com/eternal-september.html

    There are several free newsreaders.
    Thunderbird is one of them.

It is not because of spam that Google Groups is leaving
Usenet. It is because of money, or rather, the lack of it.
When was the last time that you saw any advertising here?
When was the last time that that you mentioned some
product or service or psychological condition or book or
whatever on these groups, and then found targeted ads
following you across the internet reminding you of similar
products or services or counseling programs or books or
whatever that you might be interested in?

Advertisers are uninterested in Groups, therefore Google
    is uninterested.

In the past, I often posted that Google doesn't fire or lay off
programmers hired by accident that didn't work out for whatever reason.
Instead they are assigned to work in a dungeon deep below their
headquarters, where their new job is to make Google Groups worse and worse.

They have been quite successful at that. So much so, apparently Google
has decided the project to make Google Groups worse and worse is a
complete success and feels they can finally fire those engineers and
    terminate the GG project.

I quite liked Déja News, but it took a big step downhill when it became
Google Groups, and two or three compulsory downgrades later I had had
enough, and have used a proper newreader since.

Google Reader was also useful, but they discontinued it pretty much
without warning. Since then I've used NewsBlur, which I like less,
    though I don't remember why.
