• Fresh Thread for Discussing James Marsen's Article Regarding Trying MMX

From Alan B@21:1/5 to All on Wed Apr 26 15:09:46 2023
I invite everyone to start fresh and point out what you find wrong with James Marsen's thoughts/ideas in his article titled, "A Michelson-Morley Type Experiment Should be Performed in Low Earth Orbit and Interplanetary Space".

    e

    It is obviously nonsense,
and the proposed experiment is a waste of money.
It is just aether dragging all over again.

Experimentally these predictions are directly falsified
by the mere existence of the GAIA astrometric satellite.
(which is in an Earth-synchronous Solar orbit at L2)

GAIA uses an interferometer for its stellar position measurements.
It functions in accordance with special relativity,
and the whole design of the satellite depends on that.
If it didn't the whole satellite just wouldn't work.

You had better get over it,

"improper" clocks keep measuring t'=t, just
like all serious clocks always did.
