• Einstein's 1918 Solution to the Twin Paradox

From Pentcho Valev@21:1/5 to All on Tue Apr 18 14:47:46 2023
The essence of Einstein's 1918 solution to the twin paradox:

As the traveling twin turns around, a homogeneous gravitational field appears throughout all of space, and this homogeneous gravitational field is causing the stay-at-home twin and the rest of the universe to accelerate towards the traveling twin. Also,
due to gravitational time dilation, the universe, including the stay-at-home twin, suddenly gets much older than the traveling twin during the short turning-around period.

A sane person would be unable to find more idiotic reasoning in officially-accepted science. In Einstein's schizophrenic world this is a deep truth:

Albert Einstein 1918: "A homogenous gravitational field appears..." http://sciliterature.50webs.com/Dialog.htm

High priests in the Einstein Cult avoid explicit reference to Einstein's 1918 idiocy and teach equally idiotic euphemisms:

David Morin, Introduction to Classical Mechanics, Chapter 11, p. 14: "Twin A stays on the earth, while twin B flies quickly to a distant star and back...For the entire outward and return parts of the trip, B does observe A's clock running slow, but
ENOUGH STRANGENESS occurs during the turning-around period to make A end up older." https://scholar.harvard.edu/files/david-morin/files/cmchap11.pdf

Deciphering "enough strangeness": As the traveling twin turns around, a homogeneous gravitational field appears throughout all of space, and this homogeneous gravitational field is causing the stay-at-home twin and the rest of the universe to accelerate
towards the traveling twin. Also, due to gravitational time dilation, the universe, including the stay-at-home twin, suddenly gets much older than the traveling twin during the short turning-around period.

If anyone cannot see that the solution to the Twin Paradox using GRT is different from the solution involving SRT, then I they are simply not rational. Einstein said "Acceleration Breaks the Symmetry"

"Explanations put forth by Albert Einstein and Max Born invoked gravitational time dilation to explain the aging as a direct effect of acceleration.[8] "

So the inventor of Special Relativity mistakenly proposed a gravitational time dilation solution?

Subsequent answers will tell me something.

Why not? A mumbling idiot mumbled.
Acceleration is not necessary, BTW, as he
"discovered". You may take 2 orbiting
"twins" with no acceleration at all.

Wrong again, it's nothing new at all, your idiot
guru has announced it more than 100 years ago.

A clock at the equator undergoes time dilation but no acceleration, is that what you mean Maciej?

I would like your answer to be more detailed.

There is no time dilation. Time is what clocks
indicate, poor Giant Guru was right about that.
The clocks indicate TAI time or GPS time or
UTC or zone times. Because so. None of these
times dilates and physics has exactly nothing
    to say here.
Physics is only dreaming that it is ruling
    everything everywhere.

And, returning to the paradox and orbitting
twins - there is no acceleration for them.
Another mad assertion of Einstein, but - well.

John Norton, high priest in the Einstein Cult, has replaced Einstein's 1918 homogeneous gravitational field with equally idiotic "hypersurfaces of simultaneity":

"We read from these hypersurfaces that the traveling twin judges the stay-at-home twin's clock to be running at half the speed of the travelers. When the traveler's clock reads 1 day, the stay-at-home twin's reads 1/2 day; just before the turn around,
when the traveler's clock is almost at 2 days, the stay-at-home twin's clock is almost at 1 day. Then, at the end of the outward leg, the traveler abruptly changes motion, accelerating sharply to adopt a new inertial motion directed back to earth. What
comes now is the key part of the analysis. The effect of the change of motion is to alter completely the traveler's judgment of simultaneity. The traveler's hypersurfaces of simultaneity now flip up dramatically. Moments after the turn-around, when the
travelers clock reads just after 2 days, the traveler will judge the stay-at-home twin's clock to read just after 7 days. That is, the traveler will judge the stay-at-home twin's clock to have jumped suddenly from reading 1 day to reading 7 days. This
huge jump puts the stay-at-home twin's clock so far ahead of the traveler's that it is now possible for the stay-at-home twin's clock to be ahead of the travelers when they reunite." https://sites.pitt.edu/~jdnorton/teaching/HPS_0410/chapters/spacetime_

Why? Because calculations require it? Is this done by working backwards.
