The absolute reciprocity of the velocity value between two observers in motion wrt each other appears to be a dictum ingrained in many of your minds from which you are unable to free yourselves. You are not alone. Einstein hizself was unable to do it.
He didn't even realize that he had introduced an overlooked and undetected third postulate into the LTs ( or did he? ) by his obliterating all references to v' whilst keeping x' an t'. The result of Einstein's oversight was to replace absolute time and
    space with absolute velocity.

The reader is urged to try a simple mental exercise before continuing with the critique. The exercise will help the reader to open his/her mind to the concept of total and pure relativity. This is the exercise: consider two observers in motion wrt each
other but who disagree about the velocity with which they are approaching each other.

Contemplate this for one hour as a prolegomena to any future theory of relativity.

Thank you Laurence for dredging this up from a year ago. Damn, I was a good writer back then. But I take the liberty of amending one sentence:

"The result of Einstein's oversight was in effect to replace absolute time and space with absolute *relativie* velocity."

There is no a priori reason for doing this. It's a choice on Einstein's part. And a bad choice. Just as it was Cardano's bad choice to make the square of a negative number, a positive number. Both lead to inconsistency. Right Logo Pytho?
