    ===== Qualifications =====

    A bachelor's degree in physics or related sciences is preferred, though equivalent experience is also acceptable. Prior experience working at a particle accelerator is helpful, but not necessary: this is a good entry-level job for those who wish to do
    work in a broad range of physics, engineering, and scientific specializations.

    Required: Coursework in basic engineering or scientific principles and mathematics and related subject matter comparable to the technical content of a four year college or university curriculum; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and basic Windows applications. Leadership skills are a plus. Must possess effective communication skills to interact with operations support staff and experimenters. Written communication
    skills sufficient to provide accurate and concise documentation of operations activities. Must be able to work on rotating shift schedules, as required. (Training would be provided in the following. Prior experience in these activities is helpful, but
    not necessary): Ability to monitor accelerator and accelerator beamline performance and document system data as required. Ability to understand complex operating systems. Ability to identify standard hardware failures. Familiarity with physics theory,
    which underlines the performance of the system. Experience with accelerator and accelerator beamline control systems and technology. Experience with high vacuum systems, electrical and high voltage systems, interlock systems and diagnostic gear.
    Mechanical skills sufficient to perform tasks related to operation and maintenance of accelerators and accelerator beamlines.

    Also helpful, though not required: some knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW, and UNIX or Linux. Ability to use hand and machine tools helpful. Technical coursework in physics, computer science and/or engineering is desirable.
