    We first study whether it is possible to speak of Newton's law between elementary particles without contradiction. To do this, we discuss in detail the “ideal experiment” which should make it possible to verify the applicability of Newton’s law in
    the field considered. We then study the problems posed by the quantification of the gravitational field and finally we discuss some consequences of the cosmological theory recently presented by Dirac.

    Conclusion. - It seems to result from this study first of all that it is possible to build a quantum theory of gravitation at least in the case of weak fields, that it is for example still possible to speak of Newton's law in the quantum domain without
    falling into contradictions. When fields are intense, difficulties arise for which it does not appear that quantum field theory is able to present a solution. Cosmological attempts that have been made for some time to present a quantum theory of the
    universe as a whole are discussed. Many difficulties prevent us from being able to construct a theory in which, in short, only the gravitational constant G is related to the universe as a whole.
