    And like all those influenzas (including the Asian flu) those unable to
    fight it off died.

    And it killed 650,000 Americans at a time when the population of the USA
    was 106 million compared with over 300 million today. A similar outbreak
    with no vaccine today would kill around 2 million people.

    Of course the Black Death also ended without vaccines after killing
    around 50% of the population.

    If we had globally taken proper steps to control
    population, 50 years ago, when the scientists called for
    ZPG, we could have decreased the possibility of climate
    change, the refugee crisis, environmental degradation,
    decimation of wildlife, and novel zoonotic diseases!
