I had measles at age six

    Mumps at age seven
    Chicken Pox at age eight
I survived, as did all the kids at school and in the neighborhood. Having these ailments was something of a rite of passage.
Regarding shingles, I've had it already (1990). People who got the chicken pox vaccine are just as vulnerable as those who had the disease in
childhood. Interestingly, re-exposure to chickenpox virus boosts immunity to shingles.

    Wrong.
[...] Best estimates are that over 30 million
children a year lose their sight as a result of measles.
    --------------------
Measles remains a major problem in developing countries, where it affects
an estimated 30 million children a year and causes up to one million deaths annually. Measles blindness is the single leading cause of blindness among children in low income countries, accounting for an estimated 15,000 to 60,000 cases of blindness per year.
