I'm trying to learn about the use of prism in eyeglasses. Searching around, I only find it recommended when people have serious issues such as double vision. I would think there are shades of gray, where people may be straining (for example) to
converge at near but are still able to do it. In such a case, I would think prism glasses for reading might relieve the strain and associated issues. In practice, is prism ever prescribed before very serious symptoms are observed?
