• Does ~7V mean anything?

From wade@lippman.info@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jun 29 11:25:04 2017
I have a pair of new glasses and they have ~7V watermarked on them. Watermarked probably isn't the right term, but that is what it looks like; a faint image in the lense.

    What does it mean?

It's an engraving that identifies the brand of lens. If progressive, you can use this guide to try to idenitify. https://www.sheridanoptical.com/Images/2015-ProgressiveIdentifier.pdf

Thanks much. Now a second question...

The guide identifies them as Sola HDV.
They were sold to me as Zeiss HDV, which seem not to exist; however, the Sola HDV pages make vague reference to "By Zeiss". Was I mislead, or is this legit?

    Zeiss makes the Sola HDV.
