• Night visits to bathroom help?

From KenK@21:1/5 to All on Wed Dec 7 18:11:33 2016
Recently I had (actually, still have) a bad muscle pain in upper inner
thigh. At night slept with a hot heating pad between my thighs. Noticed
that during this time I didn't have to get up during the night to urinate
as usual. Could be just a coincidence but might be worth experimenting with
if you have to get up. Couldn't hurt. The pad is an nuisance but I think
    less so than getting up.

You know it's time to clean the refrigerator
when something closes the door from the inside.

That's an interesting finding. I would not dismiss it as merely
coincidental, but it might be due to some side effect of the heating pad.

For example, you might be sleeping better with the pad. The body
normally releases anti-diuretic hormone during sleep, which shuts down
urine production. If your sleep is disrupted, the ADH does not get
produced. The pad may encourage you to sleep in a different position,
where your sleep is less disrupted.

It would be interesting to hear more.

    Sorry about the painful thigh.

Thanks for the interesting tidbit. I too noticed that when I warmed my lower abdomen and thighs I suddenly could release additional urine. In my case, it was immediately after a hot shower, with the warm water directed to my shoulders and chest, but
then ran down across my abdomen for 5-6 minutes. Could it be that heat works better and faster than Flomax?
