I've had some work done by my dentist (cheap and nasty UK NHS dentist). A root canal last year (bottom right molar) and a cavity last month (top right pre-molar). The dentist said that the top pre-molar was to going to break at one point, but suggestedto monitor it and leave it alone for the moment. I've occasionally had mild pain when drinking something very hot or cold but nothing more serious than that.
Now, for the last few days, I've had massive pain all over the right side of the mouth, but I can't pinpoint where from. If I touch the teeth or the gums, I feel no pain. It gets worse when I eat or drink.
I suspect the dentist botched the root canal and now the area is infected. I have an appointment with him a the end of the week. Every time I go there, he says there is nothing wrong.
Is this something a dentist should fix, or should I go to a different kind of doctor? Maybe it has got nothing to do with teeth?
