door?

BX Protocol (Delta Institute)?

Hello Group,
I've recently been diagnosed with stage 2 multiple myeloma. The cancer
doc diagnosed me 3 4 weeks ago on a Friday and wanted me to start chemo
the following Tuesday. I thought that was a little too soon as I wanted
to research about what it is that I have and the alternative options, if
any. I've had many tests, bone marrow showed 13.5 %abnormal cells, clean
MRI, clean PET scan, clean full skeletal bone density scan. My lower
back hurts from wedged vertebrae and old age, I'm 53?
So the doc wants me to do RVD chemo then do a stem cell transfer at the
Moffitt Center in Tampa Florida. I have a friend who has bone and breast cancer. She was stage 4, in pain and stayed in bed. She didn't want to
do chemo. She found an alternative approach called BX Protocol from the
Delta Institute. She is now in fantastic shape. She had to change her
diet, uses a hyperbaric chamber and administers to herself a syringe of
the BX every 2 weeks.
I spoke to Dr Smith who heads up the Delta Institute for a phone
consultation and it seems their approach is to target only the abnormal
cancer cells and kill them while preventing them to multiply and
changing the cell structure back to normal. I don't totally understand
it but I see the results in my friend. I need to make a decision this
week on which treatment to move forward with.
I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thank you in advance very
much!!

As you may have gathered from reading posts on this forum, most of us
have chosen to stay with the traditional medical treatment of myeloma.
Some have decided to opt for an alternative route and some have blended
the 2. One of the things that you should thoroughly investigate is the
success rate of the Delta Institute protocol in people with blood
cancers. Blood cancers are very different from solid tumors such as
breast and bone cancers. Also, look up the research that has been
published for this protocol and who has done the research. If it is only
the Delta Institute with no research that supports their findings from
other researchers, then I would be somewhat wary about following their
protocol as my only treatment.
The current treatment drugs for myeloma aren't like the traditional
chemo drugs that we are so used to hearing about in the treatment of
solid tumors. These drugs are targeted therapies that attack the cancer
cell by disrupting their processes. Yes, they do have side effects, but
no where near as bad as traditional chemo. Most of us are living very
active lives even though we are in active treatment - working, playing,
raising families, traveling, etc. It is not a given that you have to
have a stem cell transplant after initial induction treatment. That is
always the decision of the person with myeloma to decide. More and more
people are opting to not do the transplant because they have had such
good responses with the treatment drugs.
Please do some thorough research into the Delta Institute beyond what
you see in your friend and do some thorough research into myeloma and
the current treatment protocols before you make your decision. Read some
of the abstracts of current research results that have been posted here
on the Beacon from the recent American Society of Hematology (ASH)
conference. Try to make as informed a decision as you can, rather than
an emotional one, about how you want to proceed. Get a second opinion
from a myeloma specialist at Moffit or Mayo in Florida.
I wish you well with whatever you decide to do for treatment. We are all
here for you as you travel this new journey in life.

myeloma and how this fits into the disease spectrum and
monitoring/treatment protocols for the same. All the best to you.

Thank you for the replies. It seems there is not a lot of info on BX
protocol or the Delta institute on this site or the other myeloma sites.
if it is so successful wouldn't you think people would be talking about
it? Or does the mainstream traditional approach have such a huge user
rate?

Hi Reelfaith,
You will find folks on this site that do pursue alternative treatments
and they may chime in here. I have never heard of BX, but that that
doesn't mean anything. My only advice regarding BX is to do your
homework and due diligence with other multiple myeloma patients that
have undergone BX treatment if you do decide to pursue this approach.
Within the confines of "traditional" treatment of multiple myeloma, it
is perfectly reasonable to ask whether you should pursue a "transplant"
in addition to drug treatment. Many on this site have opted not to
pursue transplants and to instead rely solely on the drug treatment of
multiple myeloma.

Some multiple myeloma specialists just automatically recommend a
transplant to nearly all of their multiple myeloma patients, others will
no longer consider it and others are somewhere in the middle or
elsewhere on the continuum. It's good to talk to a variety of different multiple myeloma specialists with different opinions before selecting a particular course of treatment.

I know that BX works well as I used it before they decided to move out
of the U.S. You can't get BX in the states, but you can get it out of
Panama where the main offices are.

as well. It sounds awesome for people with cancer, but we would like to

My Mom has been diagnosed with both ovarian and uterine cancer. She had
a full hysterectomy and chemo. The chemo was completely ineffective and
within 3 weeks a bigger tumor was found than the original one that was
removed. The chemo took an incredible toll on her body and she decided
that she did not want to have a second surgery and more chemo which was recommended.
As anyone would be, we were very wary about the wire transfer, but after
much communication and research we went through with it. My mother is in
her 3rd week of the program. It is very intense; she follows a very
strict diet and must track her symptoms and vital signs daily. She is in contact with the doctors and her case manager daily. It is a year long
program with a year of "maintenance."
We are hoping that this is the answer to our prayers. It is my opinion
that the reason that alternative medicine is not promoted more boils
down to money. Alternative medicine is not regulated and does not make
money.
I wish everyone much success in whatever path they choose.

Dear BX Protocol inquirer,
Please make sure you look for many people who have tried this and form a logical conclusion rather than an emotional one, which may be persuaded
or guided by the folks at BX.
My father was in the beginning phases of the prep for taking the BX and literally 1 day away from beginning the BX. He was given the go ahead
during a webcast from the doc at BX and he was in the hospital the next
day. After that hospital run in, he was home for a few days and right
back in for 5 days followed by 3-4 days in nursing home with hospice and
then home with hospice where he passed a few days later.
For having stage 4 cancer, he was in relatively good shape for what it
was. He was so dehydrated and malnourished from the prep that he could
never turn back to the man I knew who was giving his cancer a valiant
fight. I completely blame BX for my father's early death. Shame on them!
Also, in their responses to our outcries for answers, they basically
blamed us for not completing paperwork and not sitting in on webcasts,
which are completely untrue, in addition to blaming us for not
continuing to give them information, which, again, is inaccurate, as we
told them we were sitting bedside with out loved one as he was dying, we
were unable to get them progress reports, vitals, and spreadsheet
baselines, as we had in the past.
Sorry to be the bearer of our sad news, but I personally would not go
with them again even if my father were still with us. I wouldn't give BX
to my dog.

Effective Natural/Alternative Cancer Treatments , Support Therapies,

The latest cancer statistics show that cancer is on the rise and is
becoming pandemic.
The most common outcomes of conventional cancer treatments (bluntly -
poison (chemotherapy), burn (radiation therapy) and cut (surgery)) are a recurrence of the cancer, or metastases. Those are the results of
treating the cancer symptoms and ignoring the way in which the body
heals itself. If you cut your finger, 5-7 days later, you may not even
be able to see where it was damaged. Why? Because the damage to the
tissue releases enzymes that up-regulate cell repair and regeneration.
This same process also takes place inside your body after conventional
cancer treatments. Poison, burn and cut will remove and destroy normal
cells as well as cancer cells. These cancer treatments almost never
remove or kill 100% of the cancer cells. As the body tries to repair
itself, remaining cancer cells will be repaired and regenerated also.
The only sure way to re-establish control is to put your immune system
back in charge. To this end we use natural/alternative cancer treatments

How many people do you know who had cancer and how many people you know
who fully recovered from the disease? Unfortunately, statistics are not
in favor of cure. Chemotherapy and radiation may extend life in some
cases. It depends on whether or not the cancer responds to the chemo
agents used. The choice of chemotherapy is based on the organ affected
by the disease or the type of the tumor. Only recently have hospitals
started looking into individualized treatments based on the
chemosensitivity to a particular agent or combinations thereof, i.e.
testing if a patient may respond to the chemoagent prior to
administering it. But this approach is not used for every patient. Chemo
is administered on “evidence based” trial and error basis using the
number of available chemo agents which has been used for over a decade
with limited success. Meanwhile chemosensitivity tests have been
available in Germany and Greece for over a decade.
Every cancer patient we see in Stop the clock Naturopathic Clinic

test is that it not only covers conventional chemoagents but also

require a strategy different from blood, lymph and bone cancers.
The flaws of the conventional approach is mainly in the use of a stand

Chemotherapy as a stand alone strategy is not able to destroy 100% of
the cancer cells in the body. A best effort killing/removing of cancer
cells under conventional treatments (chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery) is 98%, which is why cancer often comes back. The number of
chemo sessions required is designed to sustain the destruction. However,
if a) the cancer does not respond to the chemo agent or b) chemo therapy
did not eradicate it all, there are no defenses left to fight cancer
since the immune system was also damaged by the treatment. Conventional
cancer therapies are a hit or miss process and the price of missing is
to pay with your life. Therefore, putting all your eggs in one basket
without supportive therapies is a risky approach.
Radiation shrinks cancer cells but radiation has also been known to
cause cancer. Often radiation therapy results in life extension but once
the cancer is back, cancer cells have most likely mutated and cancer progression is usually fast.
In some cases, surgery may be a good solution provided that a complete
excision is done. In some cases, this may not be possible since tumor
margins are difficult to identify due to extensive blood supply but once
the vessels supplying blood to the tumour have been damaged, the
probability of systemic spread (metastasis) is high. In some cancers,
heat emissions from the cancer site can be measured by thermography
which can help identify the extent of blood supply to the tumour.
However, there is one caveat: the main tumour site often acts as a
control center for the metastasized cells and once it is removed, the activation of dormant cancer cells systemically is also possible
resulting in tumours showing up in various organs.
Furthermore, after surgery, the body initiates a wound healing
mechanism, upregulating endothelial growth factors to help repair the
wound, which have been shown to participate in the mechanism of cancer spread/metastasis.
Therefore, not only cancer therapies but also prevention and early
detection constitute an important part of the naturopathic approach to
cancer treatment in our clinic.
Neither chemotherapy nor radiation nor surgery provide a guaranteed safe
and curative outcome. Alternative/natural therapies give no guarantees
either, but treating a person as a whole system using an integrative
medicine approach increases the success rate and improves the quality of
life. In some cases, conventional therapies are absolutely required but
in this case supporting immune system and natural defenses is a must.
The success of a combination of surgery and chemotherapy depends on the nutritional and immune status of the body. Therefore, an integrative
approach to cancer as a systemic disease is required.
