It will be a troll, spam and abuse-free space. Open-ended discussions on any mathematical topic are welcome. It will be lightly moderated by yours truly.

Why bother, infested as it is by trolls like AP?

    Dan

Usenet users access groups like sci.math using a newsreader client program, most of which have
filtering capabilities. So they can make their own decisions on whom they want to ignore, rather
than relying on your decisions! (E.g. I already don't see any AP posts or replies.)

Besides which, if users switch to your moderated group they'll miss out on the responses from all
    their favourite sci.math regulars! :)

I don't think AP is smart enough to figure out how to implement a newsreader/NNTP server. He's on Google Groups. Regardless, anyone with
just about any newsreader (excluding Google Groups) can implement a
killfile to remove all AP posts or anything else you want to skip.

Fwiw, AP inspired me one time. I will never forget it because AP
inspiring anybody is unique! It was about semi-circles. The
    correspondence made me create this:

He did help inspire me to look into, and actually get, a "geothermal"
heating system. He was on a kick at the time of using hi-temperature
ground heat to generate electricity like in Iceland and parts of
California. Of course AP doesn't understand the concept of the ones like
I have. There are no volcanic high temperatures to be had, the area has
been dead geologically since around the Jurassic. Instead the ground at
the bottom of the wellhole (450' down) is a constant 51F, so the earth
is being used as a giant heat reservoir/sink (in summer for AC). The
heat still has to be pumped (consuming electricity) but it's much more efficient. Think of a heat pump heating system on steroids.

I had resolved to quit sci.math and sci.logic several weeks ago. Other moderated forums seem to be more useful to me at this point in my development. I am now in the top 2% in reputation points at MSE. IMHO their only drawback is that they frown on
long, open-ended discussions that I have found to so useful here at sci.math in the past.

Just today, I found out that Google Groups was dropping public news groups like sci.math. If users here like the Google Groups interface, they might consider my troll-free group that I had set up several years ago. (The interest wasn't there at the
    time.)

You'll stop liking moderated groups the first time your corporate
overlords turn on you - and history shows that they always, always do.
As soon as you aren't generating profit, you're out. It happened to
Stack Overflow, it happened to almost every Google product, and it
    happened to Reddit.

P.s., the "real sci.math.moderated" is a Usenet group, and to it
I posted the "identity Expression Statement", and 1/oo = 0.

There’s no sci.math.moderated on Eternal September, but
there is the moderated group sci.math.research .
