Bismuth Formic Iodide, a very effective medicinal powder.

This isn't readily available anymore, does anyone have some information
as to why this might be the instance.

Apparently it is largely off the market due to an FDA ban. And apparently someone is sells small amounts at very very high prices. Whether this chemical has properties that make it unique compared to others is a question. I'd guess it was effective.

There was a notion, by some that an active ingredient was converted to an analogue of paracetamol. I doubt this was the curative agent.

Bismuth and Iodine aren't expensive, nor is formic
acid, what nation has the greatest deposits might
    be a concern.

I remember using this and the results were almost
miraculous, there's no mention as to why this was
discontinued. Some hint that there were issues with
    toxicity; without collaborative information.
