I was in Spain recently where I discovered that the @ symbol is called arroba and someone told me that the word represents a unit of 25 pounds. Does anyone know why this word is used in Spain as most European languages feature an animal or food for
the symbol. Also, does anyone know what the @ symbol is called in South America?
